Mini drones in comparison
Under the term Mini Drone you will find an almost infinite selection of different quadrocopters and toys on the net. In recent years, a real competition between the manufacturers has broken out.
From jumping fun drones like the Parrot Sumo, to the high quality selfie drone “Spark” from the manufacturer DJI, you can find almost everything your heart desires.
However, we do not recommend you to buy cheap mini drones under 50 €, because they often turn out to be a real “flop” and are not worth their money even in this price category.

In the following our Top 3 of the mini drones with camera, but pay attention to what requirements you have when buying.
Some drones fly very stable and withstand a lot, but have a poor recording quality. Then there are quadrocopters where the opposite is the case.
Our favorite drone among the Mini Quadrocopters is the DJI Spark, because it is fast & agile and also has a high resolution camera, with which you can shoot Full-HD videos.

Mini drone with camera
Many people wish for a mini drone with camera, with which one can quickly & agilely travel in the air and spy.
The small quadrocopters are a lot of fun, deliver mediocre to high quality video and are quite robust.
Especially for beginners they are ideal, because smaller drones are less susceptible than their big brothers. With some of them you can even perform small stunts & tricks.
Small crashes are unavoidable. Our experience and tests have shown that small drones are very forgiving.
But they have a very small camera! Therefore mini drones with camera cannot be compared with the larger models regarding the image quality.
Watch out for the price here! Cheap drones also have bad cameras! You won’t get good cameras for less than 100 €, even in the mini drones sector, and you won’t be able to take particularly high-resolution pictures.
Fun Drones
Fun drones are just for fun and do not make a really professional impression, but some of them have a real collector’s character.
The price of fun and toy drones ranges from 25 to 300 € and is often full of surprises and special features.
Such a drone is the ideal Christmas present.
Beside the Parrot Sumo, which can jump up to 80 cm high but unfortunately can’t fly, there are toy drones like the T 65 X Wing Starfighter, which is the most famous model of the Star Wars movies and known to many people.
The manufacturer Propel has been inspired by Star Wars several times and developed the 74-Z Speeder Bike Drone and other toy quadrocopters.
Selfie Drones
Quite new on the market are so-called Selfie drones. More and more manufacturers will follow suit in the coming years and develop new quadrocopters with which you can take snapshots of yourself and other objects easily and conveniently.
Usually the Selfie Quadrocopter are normal mini drones, which were developed especially for Selfies.
Many high quality drones for private use also have a selfie function and many more intelligent flight modes, like “Point of Interrest” where the drone circles around an object or you set the drone to follow you (“Follow Me Function”).
With the DJI Spark you can, for example, take a picture of yourself and your loved ones via gesture control.
