Our “beginner favorite drone” is actually the Hubsan X4 H501S FPV with brushless drive, because it also has many functions and has a very good price/performance ratio.
In our opinion both models are very suitable for beginners!
Technical data of the drone
Compared to other models in this price range, the RC Logger RC Eye NOVAX350 Plus RTF drone has a modern GPS function. It is powered by 4 technically mature brushless motors.
The GPS system and the I.R.P.C: Intelligent Relative Positioning Control help the pilot to keep the drone perfectly in the air even in difficult situations.
The available USB interface is also advantageous, with this you can easily transfer the RC Logger RC Eye NOVAX350 Plus RTF Quadrocopter with software updates.

Size, design and weight
It’s a pretty big drone, if you keep the price in mind. The body is 350 mm long, over 350 mm wide and 169 mm high. The weight is about 808 g.
The drone is usually available in stores in the colour combination red/black.
Unfortunately the drone does not have a fixed camera, but you can mount it on the bracket below the model. If you want to use a cam, you can use the longer feet of the quadrocopter.
What we find really cool is the construction of the quadrocopter. It consists of very high quality and resistant materials. We use carbon, aluminium and glass fibre reinforced plastic. This combination ensures the lowest possible weight while at the same time providing maximum stability, flexibility and rigidity. The RC Logger RC Eye NOVAX350 Plus RTF Quadrocopter can therefore easily survive one or two crashes.
Camera, memory and FPV live image transmission
Unfortunately, the drone has no permanently installed camera, there is also no gimbal system in the scope of supply, if you order the model in the shop. However, it is possible to buy a gimbal system for this model and use a GoPro Cam. For the gimbal there is an appropriate holder below the drone.
Therefore, there is unfortunately also no FPV function. This is in our opinion a clear disadvantage compared to the Hubsan drone which we have tested very thoroughly. This drone even has an integrated FPV screen in the remote control.
Battery, range and flight time
The RC Logger RC Eye NOVAX350 Plus RTF Quadrocopter has a 3S 5200 mAh battery, which you can charge completely within 120 minutes. The flight time is then in about 15 minutes. This time span can be shorter or longer, depending on whether you steer the model very aggressively or rather reservedly.
In terms of range, you reach the limits of radio performance after about 300 metres. However, you should consider that in Germany the drone laws are very strict and you are only allowed to fly the copter within visual range. Furthermore this model has no FPV function, so you won’t really be able to use the 300 meter range to its full potential, since the model is not so easy to see at this distance anyway.
Flight stabilization
The RC Logger RC Eye NOVAX350 Plus RTF flies excellently fast and is agile. Safety is very important for this model.
Numerous safety systems are used. These include “I.R.P.C.”: Intelligent Relative Positioning Control, various satellite systems such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS and SBAS, as well as “S.M.A.R.T”: Software Managed Auto Return Technology and various flight modes.
All in all, the system works very safely compared to other drones in this price class and is therefore quite beginner-friendly.
There is also a beginner mode. Expert mode and an image capture mode where the drone can take better pictures from a bird’s eye view. In addition, a modern auto-leveling system is integrated, thanks to which the drone pilot can get to know the quadrocopter faster and better.

All in all, the RC Logger RC Eye NOVAX350 Plus RTF drone is a flight model with super flight characteristics which is perfect for beginners to practice. However, the fact that the quadrocopter has no camera and no gimbal system, which you can buy with it, bothers us.
