The manufacturer HP is rather known for producing printer devices. However, HP has recognized the market potential and has also moved into the niche of action cameras.
Hewlett-Packard has developed the HP AC300W Actioncam for this. This camera can be connected to a Smartwatch which you can wear on your wrist. This is of course a nice unique selling point. At least we have not seen such a camera model on the market before.

Technical features
The product concept makes a solid impression, but what counts in the end of course are the technical product features.
A 16 megapixel photo sensor is installed. Unfortunately the chipset can’t produce 4K videos. The video quality is still more than sufficient for hobby use! The data is stored on a Micro SD card.
Divers can also use the cam for snorkeling and diving, as it comes with a waterproof housing that is waterproof to a depth of 60 meters. So the action camera is also perfect for outdoor activities.
Design and appearance
The HP AC300W does not have the typical angular GoPro design, but looks a bit softer due to its rounded corners and edges.

A ½.5 inch CMOS photo sensor with a maximum resolution of 16 megapixels is used. Unfortunately the maximum video resolution is only 1920 x 1080 pixels. Nevertheless, photo and video recordings are characterized by a particularly high video quality. The price is often reflected in the quality and this is absolutely the case with the HP AC300W.
The cam automatically adjusts to the lighting conditions as it has a fully automatic ISO setting.
Pictures are saved in JPEG format and the digital video format is H.264.
You need a Micro SD card with a maximum of 32 Gbyte as storage medium. Both micro SD cards and micro SDHC memory media are supported.
Menu navigation and recording modes
With the help of the Smartwatch you can control the camera perfectly. Menu navigation and structure are simple and clearly arranged.
Here you can set different shooting modes among other things. For example, there is the time-lapse mode in which the camera takes a photo at intervals you specify and then cuts them together into a video.
Furthermore you can start a slow-motion video and you can see, analyse and evaluate movements better with your eyes while watching them later.
For which applications is the camera suitable?
In the scope of supply are many brackets, with whose assistance you can fasten the action camera versatilely.
