Besty 4K action camera: photo, video, battery life, quality check

The Besty 4K action camera is perfect for beginners, it has lots of accessories, has a decent image quality, is super easy to use and comes with 2 batteries to record even longer videos.

Technical properties

The included set also includes a cover, which is waterproof up to 30 meters and therefore perfect for snorkelers & divers.

On the left side there is an HDMI output, USB port and a Micro SD card slot. On the right side you find 2 buttons to move up or down in the menu, above you find the confirmation or Ok button.

Image sensor, resolution and memory

Built in is a 12 megapixel camera with a 170 degree wide angle lens. Although the picture is a little bit distorted at the side edges, you can take more material and capture details of the current scene.

You can record video at either 4K resolution or 1080P at 30 fps.

Micro SD cards are supported up to a memory size of 32 Gbyte. However, especially small storage media with only 8 Gbyte or less are problematic, so it is possible to record videos, but then you cannot play them and have to transfer them to another device first!

Menu navigation and recording modes

A real plus point is the menu structure, it is kept simple, everything is in its place, you don’t have to search for a long time and it is in German compared to some other models.

You can not only set the resolution and frame rate of the camera, but also start different modes, such as fast motion and slow motion.

Battery and runtime

The scope of delivery includes 2 strong batteries. One battery lasts for about 60-90 minutes, depending on the resolution you film with. If one battery is empty, you can simply swap it out and charge the other in the meantime. The charging time is about 160-180 minutes.

Remote control and Wifi

With a 2.4G remote control you can trigger photos and start/stop videos. You also have the possibility to connect your action camera with your smartphone/tablet or a similar device.

To do this, you will need to download an app that will allow you to transfer the pictures and videos from your action cam to your smartphone or tablet. You will also be able to share the files on social networks or otherwise upload them on the internet.

Really cool is the live image which is transmitted to your device in real time, although there is a small latency time, but this is kept within limits.

Bottom line

This camera is one of the top models with an undeniably good price/performance ratio. You can get all the accessories you need here. The video quality is also good. According to our taste, the photos could be even better.

But all in all, this is grumbling on a high level, of course you don’t get GoPro quality here, but the price is also simply top and super cheap.
