We took a closer look at the CUEYU SG700 RC drone. It has gesture photography, automatic altitude holding, 6-axis gyroscope, 360 degree flip function, different speed modes and a Wifi transmission.
In this report we’ll give you all the important technical details and show you what this model can do.
The maximum range is about 80 to 90 meters and the flight time is 8 to 10 minutes.
In combination with the other numerous features and the fact that this model costs only about 50 Euros, this model offers an enormously good price/performance ratio.
Technical data and facts about the drone
Not only the design of the drone is very attractive. The appearance of the remote control is also particularly high-quality.
In addition, you can shoot great selfies with this model and you can rely on the drone to automatically maintain its height and position.
When positioning the camera drone, you can also concentrate on the live image that is transmitted to your smartphone.
Camera
It has a 2.0 megapixel camera with optical flow and double camera room switching.
It doesn’t sound like much, but for models in this price range it’s pretty good. Most drones under 50 Euros do not even have a camera, let alone FPV live image transmission.
Design
What we think is really ingenious is the possibility to fold up the drone. This makes it even more compact and you can easily transport it everywhere.
When collapsed, it measures 17 cm x 14.5 cm x 6 cm, and when fully expanded it measures about 40 cm x 30 cm x 6 cm.
Apart from that, the look reminds a bit of the DJI models. The rotors are relatively large in diameter, thus ensuring perfect lift, excellent flight stability and high speed.
The battery
This drone model is equipped with a flight battery of about 900 mAh, which operates at a voltage of about 3.7 volts.
As already mentioned, the flight time lasts for about 8 to 10 minutes, whereas the charging takes about 80 – 100 minutes, thus about 10 times as long.
For the remote control 2 x 1.5 Volt AAA batteries are required, unfortunately these are not included in the scope of delivery!
Flight modes
Gesture photography: With a gesture you can create photo shots.
Headless Mode: In this mode, also called “Headless Mode”, the drone flies in the direction you steer it, regardless of the position of the head. This is particularly beneficial for inexperienced drone pilots and newcomers.
3D-Flips: You can also create 3D stunts at the touch of a button. Afterwards the drone will automatically return to hovering state.
Wifi remote control and image transmission: You can insert your smartphone into the remote control (below). Via Wifi, the image material from the drone is then transmitted to your mobile phone in real time.
Automatic altitude holding system: Thanks to an integrated altitude barometer, the drone can automatically hold its altitude, making it easier for the drone pilot to fly.
6-axis gyroscope: The gyroscope installed here stabilizes the drone with the help of several sensors. So if you release the control stick, the quadrocopter will automatically balance itself and maintain its flight attitude.
