For a long time GoPro cameras were the measure of all things in the field of action cameras. But every year more and more cheap cameras come on the market, which are offered at a very low price and have a high technical equipment. So GoPro is now under a strong price pressure.
The ELE Cam Explorer for example has a much better price/performance ratio, because the 4K camera is already available for about 40€!

Technical features
A clear advantage is the large scope of delivery of this camera. It comes with a bike mount, several adapters, tapes, bandages and much more. Additionally there is also a waterproof protective cover, which is waterproof up to a depth of 30 meters.
But what really interests me are the inner values of the ELE action camera.
Design and appearance
Compared to other Action Cams this one doesn’t stand out from the crowd. It has the normal standard housing with slightly rounded corners.
The lens is in the front left, on the right of it the on/off switch. The 2 inch screen is recessed at the back. It is a TFT screen.
The battery is inserted underneath, it has a maximum runtime of 2 hours, but also needs 2 hours for charging.
Image sensor, resolution and memory
The ELE Explorer camera has a 170 degree wide angle lens with 16 megapixels.
With this you can create 4K video recordings with a frame rate of 15 frames per second. Photos are taken with 16 megapixels by default, but you can change the resolution values in the settings.

Menu navigation and recording modes
The operation and control is intuitive and effortless. You can set special modes to record with.
With the help of the free app, you can connect the ELE Action Camera to your smartphone, control it and upload pictures and video clips to the cam.
