Fm-electrics fm759 Voyager Test, range and flight time

0

A cool mini drone is the FM-Electrics FM759 Voyager with an attractive design and many different flight modes.

We can recommend this model especially to beginners who still need some experience in handling quadrocopters. The handling is very easy and the stable construction even forgives the one or other crash.

Technical data

With the FM Electrics 759 Voyager Quadrocopter you can’t really go wrong. The model is very high quality and of a quality comparable to the models Mambo and Airborne Night from the French manufacturer Parrot.

Although there are some technical differences, both have enormous agility and flight stability, with FM Electrics being able to withstand even stronger winds.

Size, design and weight

The drone has the following dimensions: 130 mm x 130 mm x 15 mm. A typical size for mini quadrocopters.

What we liked best about the Voyager model was the all-round lighting. Overall, the design makes a pretty futuristic impression and looks really cool. Not too “fat” but also not too fragile.

The rotor protection rings prevent the destruction of the rotor blades in case of contact or collision with other objects.

Moreover, the Voyager drone is extremely robust and hardly destructible. It survives crashes without any problems!

Camera, memory and FPV live image transmission

Unfortunately it has no camera and therefore no FPV mode. But you have to keep the price in mind, this is a mini drone for under 50 Euros. Most of the models in this price range do not have a camera.

Battery, range and flight time

A LiPo battery with a maximum charge of 300 mAh is installed and operates at a voltage of 3.7 Volt.

The flight time that the quadrocopter achieves with such a small amount of cargo is astonishing, it is a whole 8-10 minutes, which is above average in this size class.

Because the flight battery is so small, it only needs to be charged for a maximum of half an hour.

The design of the remote control looks a bit cheap, but the transmitter does a good job and so 70-120 meters range is no problem.

You are not allowed to fly much further in Germany with such a small drone anyway, because certain laws apply here. From 100 meters it is almost invisible. But the law stipulates that such aircraft may only be flown within visual range.

Flight feeling and stability

Thanks to the gyro system which works on 6 axes, the drone flies extremely stable. Even beginners will have no problem keeping the Voyager fm759 in the air, because the drone stabilizes automatically and balances itself completely independently.

With a button you can set the quadrocopter to do different loops and somersaults, after which it switches to automatic hover mode.

The remote control can also be used to set various speed modes, with the speed being set via the maximum tilt angle.

In the fastest speed mode, the drone can achieve an angle of inclination of up to 60 degrees, allowing it to fly up to wind force 3, even though it is so small.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages:

  • Extremely fast and agile drone
  • Speed levels can be easily adjusted
  • Perfectly suited for beginners
  • Cool all-round lighting
  • Up to a maximum range of 120 meters
  • Max. 10 minutes flight time
  • Enormously short charging time (30 minutes)
  • Extensive rotor protection
  • Drone can hardly be destroyed – despite many collisions and crashes
  • Flies well outside in moderate wind

Disadvantages:

  • No camera and no FPV system
  • Professionals will have less fun with this drone

Conclusion

Fast, agile, agile, not too expensive and well suited for beginners. There is no better way to describe the FM-Electrics FM759 Voyager drone.

It is super easy to control, extremely robust, has many gadgets, flight modes and a huge range.

We therefore give a clear recommendation to buy.
