Today we present another RC drone with a 32-bit processor and a powerful brushless motor. This is a very powerful racing drone with a long life span. The model is delivered “Ready To Fly” and you don’t need any handicraft experience!
Especially the FPV function is super and provides a very positive price/performance ratio.
The camera can be manually adjusted in a range from 0 to 90 degrees. Especially the fact that the micro-camera is so light and small and still provides such an excellent image quality is remarkable.
Technical data and facts
The KakuteF7 flight controller including gyroscope, is used for mechanical filtering of vibrations. This also guarantees an optimal balance between stiffness and damping, which leads to an improvement of the gyro performance.
As video transmitter the Atlatl HV V2 is used, which works at a frequency of 5.8 Ghz. Included is a 40-channel set. Whereby the frequencies 5645 and 5945 Mhz are not supported.
The manufacturer has probably thought about the antenna connection. There is a MMCX connector integrated, which provides a secure and stable connection. The connection doesn’t break and doesn’t come loose. This can happen with IPEX connections.
The electric motors are brushless and support 4S to 6S batteries, but the electric drives are optimized for 4S.
Design
The design is very unusual, all electrical components are located under a carbon plate. In the front is the camera, which you can easily adjust the angle.
In many models, the camera sits below, but in this quadrocopter, the cam sits above.
To enable the drone to convert as much power as possible, the propellers are particularly large and have a corresponding ergonomic shape. You can quickly mount or dismount the rotors. However, they are very resistant and can withstand quite a lot.
At the rear end of the quadrocopter is the antenna. Since the electronic components, such as various circuit boards and cable connections are almost free, we recommend not to fly with the drone outside when it rains.
The arms of the Holybro Kopis 2 SE FPV Racing RC drone are made of 5 mm thick 3K carbon fiber. In comparison, the upper plate is only 3 mm thick and the lower 4 mm thick. To avoid a high risk of injury, the frame has a few bevelled edges.
In addition, the top plate of the housing is quite long, so you can easily install another HD camera on it. Here we spontaneously think of the GoPro 3 Cam, which can be bought quite cheap by now.
You have free choice of battery size, there are no restrictions. One of the reasons for this is that the frame is specially designed.
The frame construction has been developed quite intelligently. For example, you can replace a single arm easily and without having to change the complete basic frame.
Camera
The cam is the RunCam Swift Micro FPV camera. Actually there is not much to say here. The photo sensor is often used in drone models like the Holybro Kopis 2 SE FPV Racing RC drone and has an excellent recording quality. This is perfectly sufficient to participate in spectacular FPV Racings.
The FPV camera is mounted using a 3D printed TPU bracket, which allows an adjustable tilt angle between 0 and 90 degrees.
For the Cam, a keyboard is included in the scope of delivery, with which you can easily adjust the camera settings.
Integrated is also a fixed microphone, so you can hear the electric motors during the flight.
Battery and flight time
There is no battery in the scope of supply, so you have to buy a flight battery in any case. Here 4S to 6S storage systems are supported by the drone. As already mentioned, the electric motors are optimized for 4S operation and you can use a battery of any size above, because the upper plate has a rather large surface.
The actual flight time therefore depends enormously on the amount of maximum charge storage of the quadrocopter.
Larger flight batteries have the advantage that you can fly longer with the drone, but the overall weight is higher.

For whom is this model suitable?
Bloody beginners should perhaps not buy a FPV Racing Drone right away, but first buy a cheaper and smaller model.
The Holybro Kopis 2 SE FPV drone is definitely interesting and recommendable for advanced and professional drone racers. However, you will not get a kit here, but a “Ready To Fly” object. However, there is the possibility to change single parts easily. Here a little bit of crafting skill is necessary.
Conclusion
In the air the drone makes a very good impression, it moves fast and agile, that is really great and makes a lot of fun.
If you like raw pure power and action-packed FPV racing, the Holybro Kopis 2 SE FPV Racing RC Drone is definitely for you.
Unfortunately the rotor blades are partially visible in the FPV feed, which is a small disadvantage, but you get used to it quite fast and then you unconsciously hide it. There is also no flight battery in the scope of supply and therefore you have to buy a corresponding battery.
Otherwise the drone is really super and recommendable.
