The design
A little bit the JJRC X9 Heron has something of a DJI Spark, at least as far as looks go. However, it can not be folded up.
Below each propeller drive there are pairs of LEDs in red and green. Red indicates the front and green the rear area. So you have the possibility not to lose orientation even in the dark and always know where you have to fly to. Should you still not be able to control the model properly or the visibility is too poor, you can also use the Return To Home function.
As already mentioned, the colours “black” and “white” are available in the shop. But this is actually only the colour of the roof of the body, the rest is more in a grey shade.
Camera
Here is a camera with a resolution of 1080P installed. Photo and video recordings are transmitted in real time, but with 720P resolution. But the videos are saved in 1080P format.
The camera is equipped with a field of view of 70 degrees and has a focal length of f/3.5. Thanks to the gimbal system with 2 axes, the images are displayed with very little vibration and with a high depth of field.
Also the resolution and color quality are really good. Of course, there are other drones that offer more photo and video performance, but for such models you have to dig a lot deeper into your pocket. The power system, battery and flight time
The flight time of the JJRC X9 Heron drone is a big plus for this price. This is about 16 minutes, if the battery is fully charged.
If you notice that the drone’s charge level is decreasing during the flight, you can make an emergency landing with a simple button.

Point of interest
With the flight function Point of interest you simply have to select an object on the screen, around which the drone should orbit.

One Key Takeoff/Landing
A very user-friendly function is the One Key Takeoff/Landing feature. You simply press this button, which is on your remote control and the quadrocopter will automatically take off and hover at a height of about 1.2 meters.
If you want to land again, just press this button again and the model will land automatically and gently on the ground.
Follow Me Mode
With the help of the Follow Me mode, you can film yourself while you pursue your hobby, for example.
This feature is very common among large drones and really very useful for creating great videos.
Way Point Flying
For Way Point Flying you simply draw a route on your map, which the drone will then fly.
Precise Positioning and Hovering
The integrated GPS ensures a very stable and balanced flight attitude. The Hubsan Drone, which we have also already tested, also has such a GPS module. The drone’s system communicates with several satellites and corrects even the smallest deviations from its course. This enables it to maintain a perfect center position.
