A very special quadrocopter, is the LBKR Tech FPV RC drone. Because of the unusual design, we noticed this model immediately.
The wings, on which the propellers are located, are foldable. When folded, the drone takes on a ball shape. Whereby the wings are then located inside and protected. So the aircraft can be transported comfortably in any bag and suffers no damage.

Technical details
Very high quality materials were used for this model. The ABS plastic material is very stable and heat resistant. Furthermore, the drone has a 6-axis gyro-gimbal system, which keeps the aircraft stable in the air.
With the 0.3 MP you can take photos & videos. The live image is transferred via Wifi to your smartphone and that’s where the photo and video material is stored.
Therefore you should make sure that there is an active connection between smartphone and drone before starting the recording. The necessary app is suitable for both iOS and Android.
The range of the 4CH 2.4GHz transmitter is about 50-70 meters. The Wifi connection has a transmission and reception radius of only 30 meters.
So if you want to take a video or a photo, you have to make sure that the drone is not further than 30 meters away from you, otherwise the connection to the smartphone and therefore the storage will be lost.
Unfortunately this drone has no SD card, there is no possibility to save the data on the aircraft, they can only be saved on the mobile device, i.e. the smartphone or tablet. In our opinion this is a big disadvantage.
The flight battery is a 3.7V 450 mAh Lipo battery. With the included charger it takes about 50-70 minutes to fully charge the battery.
Please note that it should only be charged with the supplied adapter and only there the USB cable should be connected to the battery. A wrong charging voltage could destroy the battery. The data required for charging are: Input: 5V 0.5-1A Output: DC4.2V.
The flight time with the fully charged flight battery is then about 7-8 minutes. For this price class this is already very good. You can also make a stopover as soon as the battery gets weaker and replace it. Another spare battery is included.
Flight characteristics of the LBKR Tech FPV RC drone
The robust drone can typically be steered in all 4 directions, sideways, right & left, forward and backward, just like any other drone. It also has a pre-programmed stunt, the 360-degree flip, which you can perform at the touch of a button.
At the beginning it has to be calibrated with the remote control, which is quite easy. And of course you should charge the battery properly before the first flight.
For beginners flying with the LBKR drone is ideal, because crashes are no problem. After several crashes, it had not suffered any damage. It is much more robust than it looks at first glance. In case of a crash the drone folds its arms and often lands as a ball.
At the beginning you need some time to develop the right feeling for the quadrocopter. At the beginning it is difficult to keep it in the air, because you quickly confuse where front and back is. But you can approach slowly, because the model has 3 different speed levels, for beginners, advanced and professionals.
The remote control lies very well in the hand when flying and steering. The remote control is neither too big nor too heavy. With it the drone can be steered very well. Above the transmitter, there is a holder, which is used to attach the smartphone in order to follow the live recordings. Thus FPV flights are possible with the view from the ego perspective.
Scope of delivery
When you get the package delivered, there are some accessories for it, which we noticed very positively.

If you compare the scope of delivery with other models, it is noticeable that no savings were made here at all. There is a second battery and even batteries for the transmitter unit in the package. This is not usual and of course increases the price-performance ratio!
Advantages and disadvantages
At first sight the quadcopter makes a very cool impression and with a little practice it can be flown impressively, but let’s have a look at the advantages and disadvantages in the overview:
Advantages:
- Well suited for beginners thanks to 6 axis gyro and 3 speed modes
- FPV flights possible
- Flight battery is exchangeable, spare battery included
- Stable & intelligent construction made of resistant material
- Foldable – can be easily taken everywhere
- Withstands even a heavy fall
Cons:
- Photo and video data can only be stored on the smartphone with an active Wifi connection
- Picture of the camera in daylight very good, but you can hardly see anything as soon as it gets dark
Conclusion
In our opinion, the LBKR FPV drone is rather unsuitable for professionals, not only because the camera‘s 0.3 megapixels are not sufficient for professional photography, but because the photos and videos can only be stored on the smartphone and not in the aircraft on an SD card.
The price is about 60-70€. In our opinion, you get a lot for that here. The functions, the cool design and the extensive scope of delivery speak for themselves. So you can say that the drone is good in terms of price and performance.
However, you should be clear before buying what your requirements are in detail. Should the quadrocopter only fly or should it also produce very high quality pictures. For both in combination, we can recommend the Ryze DJI Tello, which costs around 100€ and is also suitable for beginners. For advanced and professional users there are also a number of drones with cameras, which are more expensive.
