Once again we looked around for a cheap action camera and found the QUMOX SJ4000 Cam.
You can use them in various recreational activities, for example during climbing, skiing, diving or sledding.
Of course the model is not comparable to a GoPro camera, but the price/performance ratio of the QUMOX SJ4000 is very good and suitable for beginners.
The setup is quite simple. You only have to charge, mount or set up the cam and start shooting.
In addition, there are many different functions and recording modes, such as filming in loops or the Wifi connection with a smartphone.
Technical details, scope of delivery and field of application
The scope of delivery includes an incredible number of accessories. At the beginning you should arrange them first to be able to put the elements together properly afterwards
The camera itself has a very low weight and is relatively light. The workmanship is also very simple, but still of high quality.
Also included is an underwater housing, which ensures that you can use the camera under water.
If the cam is inside the housing, the sound recordings are a little worse and don’t seem to be as high quality. Otherwise, both sound and photo and video recordings are very clear and fast movements are well recorded due to the high frame rate.
However, the photo sensor has problems in dark rooms with a small light source in it; here it appears as if the camera had generated pixel errors. We therefore recommend using the QUMOX SJ4000 action camera only in good lighting conditions.
Unfortunately the manual is a bit confusing, but the menu structure seems to be very suitable for this.
In our opinion the price/performance ratio is absolutely ok. We can recommend the camera to every beginner.

Camera quality
It has a 12 MP photo sensor and a 170 degree wide-angle lens with a 6G lens.
In the menu you have various settings and can choose between different resolution formats.
Photos can be taken with the following resolutions: 12 MP, 8 MP and 5 MP. For videos, you can choose between the following formats: 1280 x 720 pixels at 60 frames per second, 848 x 480 pixels at 60 fps, QVGA, i.e. 640 x 480 pixels at 60 frames per second. The video format is H.264.
You can also set different recording modes. For example the single shot, self-timer (2 s, 5 s, 10 s) or continuous shooting.
Battery performance and runtime
The scope of delivery includes a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 900 mAh. With this you can record videos at 1080P, 70 minutes at a stretch.
The battery takes about 3.5 hours to charge.
Design
Optically the camera does not differ much from other models. At the front are the photo lens and the on-button, on the left different sockets for USB and HDMI, as well as the slot for the memory card.
On the back is the display and above the confirmation button.
You can take the cam with you everywhere because of its compact dimensions. It has the following dimensions: 59.27 cm x 41.13 cm x 29.28 cm. The screen is a liquid crystal display (LCD) with 1.5LTPS.

Conclusion
You can use the QUMOX SJ4000 for various applications. For example as a dashcam, camcorder or for diving.
We especially liked the positive price/performance ratio and the extensive scope of delivery.
