A camera that really knocked us off our feet, because it offers an unbelievable price/performance ratio and has a lot to offer, is the Vemico 4K Action Cam.
You will not only get a high quality action camera, but also a very extensive accessory set for currently under 40€.
It is perfect for taking pictures while riding a motorcycle, on holiday at the beach or for snorkeling and diving, because it is waterproof up to a depth of 40 meters.
We have already tested some ActionCams and there are many offers on this market, which are very cheap but don’t keep their promises concerning video quality and comfort in everyday life. How this works with the Vemico 4K and if it is worth it, we will show you in our report.
Technical equipment, scope of delivery and comfort
According to some customer reviews, this camera is not supposed to do justice to a high-quality 4K action camera. However, you have to consider the price, you can not compare the recording quality with that of a GoPro Cam, unfortunately, many do so and then complain. For this price the photos and videos are absolutely great!
Built in is a 4K HD camera with Sony sensor, which can produce up to 16 megapixel photos and 4K videos at 30 frames per second.
You can set the following values for the video resolution:
- 4K at 30 fps
- 2.7K at 30 fps
- 1080P at 60 fps or 30 fps
- 720P at 90 fps 60 fps or even 30 fps
Furthermore you can use the time-lapse mode, in which the camera produces pictures in the following intervals: 0,5s / 1s / 2s / 5s / 10s / 30s / 60s. Afterwards the ActionCam turns the pictures into a full-fledged time-lapse video.
For loop recordings you can set the times to 2 minutes, 3 minutes and 5 minutes. The slow motion mode can only be used in 1080P resolution at 60 fps and 720P at 90 fps.
The camera also produces really good photos. You can choose different image resolutions in the camera menu: 16, 12, 8, 5 or 2 megapixels. The self-timer can be set to a waiting time of 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 seconds. In addition, the Motion Shot is a cool feature that allows you to take photos in quick succession. You can set a value at 3p/s, 5p/s and 10p/s.
With the battery, you’ll have 900 mAh and a maximum runtime of about 90 minutes at 1080P resolution and 60 frames per second. At higher resolutions, the running time per battery charge is shorter.
But 2 batteries are included in the scope of delivery and you can change them easily, fast and uncomplicated.
Even in the dark or twilight it takes pretty good shots, the picture does not look too dark. That’s partly because of the Sony sensor and partly because a 170-degree wide-angle lens does a good job of collecting light and image information. An integrated white balance (adjustable to auto, sunny, cloudy, white light, fluorescent lamp) does the rest. In addition, the exposure can be adjusted in the range between -3 and +3.
On the back is a 2 inch LCD display, where you can view recorded files and the live image and menu navigation. We recommend that you remove the protective film from the lens and display before use.
The quality of workmanship is excellent for this award, the camera itself is coated with a soft lacquer on the outside, but in itself it is made of plastic. Some menu and control buttons are attached, as well as a USB 2.0 port and HD output.
Thanks to the WIFI APP Control you can also connect the ActionCam to your Smartphone. This connection is established via a WLAN connection, which reaches a maximum range of about 10 meters.
You will need the compatible app from Vemico. After connecting your smartphone to the Vemico 4K action camera, you can follow the live image in real time on your mobile phone. The delay time is in our opinion within acceptable limits. Furthermore, you can download photos and videos directly to your smartphone and share them in social networks.
Also included is a remote control, which you can wear around your arm like a wristwatch. There is a red and grey-white button with which you can trigger a photo or start a video without having to do anything on the camera.
It is very important for you to note that the manufacturer can only guarantee a perfect functioning if you feed the camera with a maximum 32 Gbyte Micro SD card. It may be that the cam also works with a 64 Gbyte or 128 Gbyte memory card, but the manufacturer says something different. When you buy a 32 Gbyte card you should also make sure that the 32 Gbyte card has a sufficient writing speed, because after all, the camera films with a resolution of up to 4K, which is of course an enormous amount of data per time span.

So we have a clear recommendation for all those who want to save money and still have a really good action camera with lots of accessories.
