Zoopa ZQ0420 Acme Q 420 Test, Range, Flight time, For beginners

0

The ACME zoopa ZQ0420 drone is extremely cheap, has a 720p HD camera and is quite good for beginners with a small budget who want to try a quadrocopter with camera.

Technical data

This drone has many cool features and lots of technology, although it costs less than 30 €. In this report we will go into more detail about the product.

Size, weight and design

manual start

It is not a mini drone, the model has the dimensions: 345 mm x 345 mm x 75 mm and in its diagonal about 410 mm.

The rotors are particularly striking because they are so large, they have a diameter of an incredible 136 mm!

Despite the size, the weight is relatively low, with battery the ACME zoopa ZQ0420 weighs only about 100 g.

The design reminds a bit of the Hubsan drone, at least as far as the shape of the upper body is concerned, in terms of color a very individual style is emerging from the colors black orange and white. The landing cuvs of this model are also somewhat reminiscent of the DJI Phantom series.

You can also fly with the quadrocopter at night, for this purpose there is a nice LED lighting available which you can switch on via the remote control.

Camera, memory and FPV live image transmission

Camera of the Zoopa Drone

The ACME zoopa ZQ0420 has a 720p camera, but no FPV live image transmission integrated.

For both videos and photos, the resolution is 1280 x 720 px. The recordings are stored on a 2 Gbyte SD memory card, which is included in the delivery.

Battery, range and flight time

Thanks to the ACME 1S 600 mAh LiPo battery, which operates at a voltage of 3.7 volts, the drone can fly for 8 minutes.

But it also depends on your flying style. If you’re flying wild stunts and full speed all the time, the total flying time per battery charge will of course be much less and maybe around 5 minutes.

The maximum transmission range of the remote control is sufficient. It’s about 80 meters. Unfortunately you can’t fly much further than that. Since this is not a mini drone, you could have gotten even more out of it. The 80 meters are sufficient, but the model is still very visible at this distance.

The legal limit that a drone has to be flown within sight can therefore hardly be exhausted.

Flight stabilization

It is equipped with a 6 axis gyrosystem V2.0 which always balances the quadrocopter and keeps it in hovering flight as soon as you release your fingers on the remote control. This is ideal for beginners who have not yet had any experience flying a drone.

There is also a 360 degree flip function that can be triggered at the touch of a button on the remote control. The drone then automatically switches back to hover mode.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages:

  • Cool design
  • Very good price/performance ratio
  • Perfectly suited for beginners
  • Reliable 6 axis gyroscope system V2.0
  • Cool stunts at the push of a button thanks to 360 degree flip function
  • LED lighting
  • 720p camera with photo and video function
  • Memory card is included in the delivery

Cons:

  • Relatively short flight time (8 minutes with calm flying style)
  • Range is 80 meters – could be greater
  • No FPV live image transmission

Conclusion

Zoopa drone in the landscape

Admittedly, as advanced pilots, we have no great interest in flying this drone regularly, as we are used to a different price range and the quadrocopters for 500-1500 Euros are not comparable with this model.

A beginner who wants to save money and just gain some flying experience is well advised with the ACME zoopa ZQ0420. This model has many functions for the low price (< 30€) and in our opinion it is a quadrocopter with a damn good price/performance ratio!
