The small Arshiner Quadcopter XT001 is a mini drone with a roll bar for protection. It is especially suitable for beginners who do not have too much flying experience, because the roll bar protects the small copter from collisions with other objects or drones. In addition, this model is very inexpensive and so small that it does not suffer as much damage in case of a crash.
The XT001 is particularly suitable for indoor use as it is protected both horizontally and vertically.
It is controlled by a 2.4 Ghz 4 channel remote control. The range is not too big, but at some distance the drone is hardly visible.
Technical features
Unfortunately the Arshiner Quadcopter XT001 does not have many functions. But the drives work powerful and reliable.
Included are also some accessories and everything you need to take off with the drone, including 4 spare propellers, battery USB charger, comprehensive user manual, the roll bar and the remote control.
But you still need 6 x AA batteries for the remote control.
Design
As mentioned in the beginning, the design with the roll bar is very unusual, but we think that this design is quite safe for beginners and probably the best way to get into drone flying.
The dimensions of the quadrocopter itself are 130 x 130 millimetres and measures approximately 100 millimetres in height with the roll bar.
The propellers have a relatively large diameter of 54 millimetres. For the engines we come up with the following dimensions: 7 mm diameter and 20 mm height.
Of course you can also remove the roll bar if you don’t like it, but it makes sense for beginners and we recommend to leave it on for now. The roll bar absorbs shocks and forces acting on the quadrocopter without damaging the model itself. The roll bar is also surprisingly elastic and can still withstand large forces.
Remote Control
The remote control works just like any classic 4-channel remote control. On the left side, the throttle is given, which means that if you push the left lever up, the rotor speed increases and the copter rises.
And then there is of course the joystick on the right side, which is responsible for the control in alignment on the plane.
The button on the top right is used to perform cool stunts with the drone.
In principle, the way of control is very simple, intuitive and self-explanatory.
Range and flight characteristics
The remote control has a transmitting power that reaches about 50 to 60 meters. It also depends on whether there are objects between the transmitter (remote control) and receiver (drone). In itself the transmitting power is completely sufficient for this small model.
Unfortunately, the Arshiner Quadcopter XT001 does not have a GPS system, but it keeps itself automatically in the air. A built-in gyroscope is responsible for this. You quickly get used to how to manoeuvre the drone in order not to collide with objects, persons or a wall.
Battery and flight time
A 390 mAh strong battery with a voltage of 3.7 Volt is installed, which is completely sufficient for this small drone and the small motors.
You can fly for about 6 to 8 minutes on one battery charge, after that you have to charge the flight battery, which takes about 40 minutes.
Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages:

- Ideal for beginners because the drone has an integrated gyroscope and offers a lot of safety

- Despite its small size a range of up to 60 meters
- Spare rotors included
- Good price/performance ratio
Disadvantages:
- According to our taste the flight time at 6 to 8 minutes is a little too short
- The roll bar looks a bit bulky, but can be dismantled
- Unfortunately no integrated camera and no FPV
Conclusion
On us the Arshiner Quadcopter XT001 makes a pretty good impression despite the few disadvantages. Thanks to the roll bar and the gyroscope system, the drone offers extensive protection for beginners, because the model not only flies stable, but in case of a collision it almost always comes away unscathed.
Compared to other drone models, the XT001 is not that exciting, the only thing that jumps in your face is the roll bar, which some people don’t like and therefore disassemble.
Nevertheless we like this drone quite a lot, the manufacturer has thought of something. The model is very cheap and shines with a high safety standard, so the Arshiner XT001 drone is perfect for beginners.
