In today’s test report we present the Eachine E016H mini drone. This is a model with an enormously safe design, including propeller protection, removable protective cover and easy operation.
The drone is also particularly popular because it comes with 2 batteries, can be used for 360 degree stunts and has an LED light.

All facts and figures about the technology
Flight characteristics, technical features, material structure and design speak for this model. The enormously low price is also not to be scoffed at, which attracts especially beginners to buy such a model.
The scope of delivery is quite clear and everything is included to be able to fly with the drone after charging directly. The quadrocopter is so to speak “Ready To Fly”. We think it is great that you even get 2 batteries for this unbeatable price.
A 6-axis stabilisation system and an automatic height adjustment system are installed. So if you release the throttle, the drone will level off at a certain height. This simplifies the control enormously. Especially beginners benefit from this.
Design
Especially the protected design structure makes something special. This also protects children from the propeller drives and prevents them from easily injuring themselves on the rotor blades.
Otherwise the drone comes along with a cool poison green. At the front there is also a LED night light, so you can fly with the model in the dark.
No camera?
Unfortunately the Eachine E016H drone does not have a camera, which is normal in this price segment. The fewest models which are available for less than 50 Euros have a cam.
But the quadrocopter has many other great functions.
All about the remote control
The radio remote control is very compact and handy. It is ideal for children with small hands and also has a great design in the colors “gift green” and “black”, matching the quadrocopter.
As energy source for the remote control 2 x AA batteries are required, which are unfortunately not included in the scope of delivery.
In the middle and under the control sticks there are some trim buttons to adjust the model perfectly in its stable flight position.
If the drone should drift away to the left, for example, you have to use the trim button on the right to make fine adjustments.
At the back of the quadrocopter there are also 2 more buttons. With the right button the drone can perform great stunts and flips. The left button is for setting the drone in 3 different speed levels.
In our range test we were able to fly with Eachine E016H so far that it was hardly recognizable, afterwards the radio contact broke off so bit by bit. In this case, i.e. when contact is no longer established, the drone makes an emergency landing. So you don’t have to worry about losing it completely.
The battery
To supply the model with power, the drone has a flight battery on the underside. You can change it very easily by pushing it out.
The package also includes a USB charger, so you can charge the battery with any USB charger or power supply.
Depending on how empty the battery was, the total charging time is about 80 to 90 minutes. It also depends on which power supply/charger you use.
If the battery is empty, the Eachine E016H drone will make an emergency landing. Furthermore the drone shows a very low battery level by its LEDs starting to blink.
Commissioning
To get the drone ready for take off, you have to plug in the white cable of the battery at the back. Then the blue and red LEDs will start flashing. Afterwards you should switch on the remote control. To couple the remote control to the drone, pull the left joystick up once and then down to the left corner.
You can tell if the drone has successfully connected to the remote control when the LEDs of the quadrocopter stop blinking.
If you want to start the model aircraft, simply pull the control sticks right and left down.
Flight characteristics
After take-off, the drone must always be calibrated first. This is easily done using the trim buttons on the remote control and usually takes only about 10 to 15 seconds.
When you have completed the calibration, the quadrocopter will stand very still and relaxed in the air.
We recommend to fly with the Eachine E016H only in absolute calm or in your own 4 walls. Due to its low weight it is very vulnerable even in the smallest gusts of wind.
Flying in the 3 different speed levels works perfectly and you can approach higher speed levels step by step.
As already mentioned, it is possible to perform cool flips and stunts with the drone in all 4 directions. You should note, however, that the quadrocopter always loses some altitude after a flip.
Especially beginners will have a lot of fun flying the Eachine E016H.
Assets and drawbacks
Advantages:
- Very high quality mini drone at a very reasonable price
- Alarm function for low battery
- Comparatively long flight time (8 minutes per battery charge)
- Cool tricks like 3D flip function
- Simple and intuitive control thanks to headless mode
- Pretty beginner friendly – you can set 3 different speed levels
- High quality propeller protection to prevent damage to objects and people
- Fun is definitely given with this drone
Cons:
- Fairly susceptible to wind – especially in strong gusts of wind
- The drone must be calibrated briefly after each start (takes about 10 to 15 seconds)
- No camera available
Conclusion: The purchase is worthwhile
We have already tested several models from the manufacturer Eachine. Among them were the Eachine E511S GPS Dynamic, Eachine Tyro99 Drone, Eachine EX2H Brushless Quadrocopter and the Eachine E58 DroneX Pro Drone. All models of this brand are characterized by an enormously good price/performance ratio.
So it is not surprising that the E016H mini drone is available for less than 30 €, depending on the shop where it is bought. At the same time the model has a lot to offer.
Check out the list of pros and cons before you decide to buy this model. The disadvantages are really not a big problem. We recommend that you fly it in your living room and you will quickly get used to the calibration. However, if you are interested in a larger drone with a camera, then take a closer look at the Hubsan quadrocopter we tested.
With the Eachine E016H mini drone fun is guaranteed, even without a camera.
