The Eachine E58 mini drone is, on closer inspection, nothing more than a DJI Mavic Pro dummy or fake. The quadrocopter is by far smaller than the real Mavic, but the Mini Drone can be folded as well.
The price is with just over 60€ much cheaper than the original product. But the real question here is: how much can you expect from the Eachine E58? Is it about as good as the Mavic Pro?
We have subjected the quadrocopter to an extensive drone test. You can watch the full video review here:
If you are looking for the german manual, you can download it here – it is a PDF file.
Eachine E58 design and material quality
The quadrocopter can be folded like the original and unfolded again when you want to fly.
When folded, the drone is about the same size as a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. The drone is then 12.5cm long, 7.5cm wide and only 5cm high.
With this it undercuts the dimensions of the Mavic Pro. When folded out, the drone is much bigger, but can still be counted among the mini drones. (27×19.5×5).
The weight of the drone is exactly 96g and is therefore an absolute lightweight in the drone world. Due to the low take-off weight, the drone does not need a registration plate as it would be the case with the Phantom 3 Pro.
The remote control as well as the Eachine itself lie well in the hand and have a nice touch. 3 1,5AA batteries must be inserted into the remote control
In our Fly-More-Combo package there are 2 additional batteries, so that the flight time is significantly longer.
A battery has a capacity of 500mAh and can be charged with any USB charging cable. In addition, the batteries for the remote control must be purchased separately.
Replacement propellers are unfortunately not included, but can be purchased for 7.99€ on Amazon.

Camera Test
There are two different versions of the E58. A 0.3 MP camera and another version which has 2MP and costs only 5 Euro more. The money is really well invested at this point.
To be honest I don’t understand why there are two versions, this is the only difference between the two models.
The 2MP version can record videos with a resolution of 720P. The filming is really good for this price and the picture is “relatively” stable.
Since the quadrocopter has no gimbal, the video recordings are still a bit shaky. The drone can’t compensate this by a stable flight, the movies will always be a little shaky.
Snapshots like a selfie or taking pictures of the garden or your own house are what the Mavic Clon is for.
If we are honest, you simply can’t expect Hollywoord-ripened recordings for this price.
Nevertheless the photos are so far ok and are enough for recreational use.
If you want to buy a drone for commercial use, you should take a closer look at the original Mavic Pro If you are looking for a high end model, you should read our Phantom 4 review.
Flight test Eachine E58 Mavic clone
Taking off and landing of the Eachine drone is easy and fast. By simply pressing a button in the app, the flight starts and the copter takes off to a starting altitude of almost one meter – very beginner-friendly!
The drone is controlled by the JY UFO App, which is available for free in the IOS Store as well as on Android. The download is free and no registration is necessary (like e.g. at DJI).
We tested the E58 on our first flight when there was 100% calm, perfect flying conditions.
The mini-copter lies well in the air and immediately implements what we give as a command via the remote control – without delay.
Due to the integrated barometer the drone can also hover in the air on its own.
In light wind the copter started to stagger a bit, but you only notice this when we stop on the spot. Otherwise you practically don’t feel the headwind.
After a short acclimatisation period we felt safe with the mini-copter.
The flight time under full load is about 8 minutes. If full throttle is not flown all the time, then a flight time of 9 minutes can be achieved.
title=” “<script=””> width=”20″ height=”20″>Directly after flying the battery can be replaced and the flight fun continues.
The speed of the copter can be regulated in 3 different levels. The slowest mode is suitable for video recordings, as the camera movement is more relaxed and less jerky.
The headless mode ensures that the drone always flies exactly in the direction of the remote control. No matter if the snout of the E58 points to us, to the left, right or to the front.
This mode can make flying easier, especially for beginners.
360° flips can be triggered in the app at the touch of a button. Flips are supported forwards, backwards and sideways.
However, it should be noted that within a radius of at least 3m there are no obstacles against which the copter could fly in an emergency.
After a flip the copter needs a short time to stabilize. Sometimes it also drifts off half a meter.
But this is no problem, if you consider the obstacle clearance around the drone.
I had a lot of fun flipping the E 58, a great feature!
After testing several beginner drones I really have to say that the flight characteristics of Eachine are extremely good for this price.
I would even go so far as to say that this mini quadrocopter is my personal test winner in the area of flight behaviour.

Great aircraft for a very good price
The price-performance ratio is, in our opinion, absolutely top in this model and you get a very generous scope of delivery. The perfect entry level drone for every beginner.
The Eachine E58 drone quadrocopter makes good selfiefotos and can also produce in the 2MP version one or the other useful video recording.
Nevertheless I can give a clear recommendation to buy this mini drone. Currently there are very cheap offers on Amazon for this model.
Of course this one is not suitable for the professional. If you are looking for a drone with a good camera, take a closer look at our tested model from Hubsan or DJI.
For the most demanding photographer or filmer we can recommend the Mavic Pro, Mavic Air or the Phantom 4 (already top of the flagpole).
P.S.: Our test video will follow as soon as I find the time to cut it! 🙂
