The Goliath 90290 Sky Viper is small, compact and the perfect quadrocopter for beginners.

In our mini-drone tests we have already tested many small copters, the Goliath is compared to many other models really high-quality and worth its money.

What you can really expect from the Goliath, you will find out in this review.

Technical data

This drone is not a “Ready To Fly Model”, so you have to assemble it yourself.

For this it is especially cheap and that although it contains a lot of technology.

Hobbyists will certainly have a lot of fun with it, but it is not suitable for people who can’t get started with model making.

For the assembly there is of course an extensive construction manual in the scope of delivery, it is easy to understand and the handicraft work is not too difficult, even beginners can do the assembly.

Size, design and weight

Once the Sky Viper STEM drone is assembled, it makes a pretty good impression.

Its weight is only about 75 grams, the whole Mini Quadrocopter is quite simple but cleverly constructed.

The rotor blades and the cockpit are partly in poison green, the rest is black plastic. Each rotor is protected by a rotor guard, the rotors themselves are made of an elastic material to prevent damage in case of a crash.

The 4 small electric motors have a diameter of 7.0 mm and a height of 20 mm. Despite their small size, they are enormously powerful and accelerate the Goliath 90290 Sky Viper Stem drone to up to 41 kilometers per hour. Below each motor is a small landing pad.

No camera available

Unfortunately there is no camera for this model and therefore no FPV live image transmission. The only cool features are the beginner and professional mode and the possibility to let the drone take off and land automatically.

Battery, range and flight time

A LiPo battery with 650 mAh is installed which operates at an operating voltage of 3.7 Volt. This gives you a flying time of between 6 and 9 minutes, depending on your flying style. The battery will tend to run out during particularly fast manoeuvres and high loads on the electric motors. However, you can also replace the flight battery without any problems and thus increase the flight time considerably.

A real plus point is the maximum range, because it’s about 180 meters for the mini drone, which is damn far and not usual for such a small quadrocopter!

Flight stabilization

Thanks to extensive sensor technology, the drone has a hover or beginner mode in which the Sky Viper automatically holds itself in the air as soon as the control stick is released.

Stunts such as rolls, somersaults or loops can also be performed at the touch of a button, but it is also possible to switch to manual mode, where the drone no longer controls itself but is freely controllable. If you have what it takes, you can even let the Goliath 90290 fly upside down.
