Today we present a really fast speedster for the living room. It is the model Jamara Skip 3D. The quadrocopter flies up to 40 kilometers per hour and convinces us especially by its great flight characteristics.
Technical details
We have already tested a lot in the field of mini drones, including the Parrot Airborne Drone. In this area, as with the large drones, there are good and bad models, the price is not always the deciding factor. In this report we present all the technical details of the Jamara Skip 3D drone and clarify whether it is worth buying.
Size, design and weight
The drone reminds you a bit of an insect, it is really tiny and has a diameter of only 18.5 cm. At the same time it weighs only 30.4 grams, so this model is a bit susceptible to wind, which is the case with almost all mini drones.
A small propeller guard located on each rotor provides sufficient protection against collision. All in all the mini drone also makes a very stable impression, the processed plastic is somewhat elastic. All these design features make the Jamara Skip 3D drone the perfect flying machine for beginners to practice.
Battery, range and flight time
At the high speed the drone should have a good range and it does. The maximum range of the transmitter is about 100 meters, but it depends on whether there are any objects between transmitter and receiver.
The maximum flight time is only 10 minutes. Unfortunately, if you go full throttle all the time, the battery may run down after 8 or 7 minutes. It is therefore recommended to buy several flight batteries, which you can recharge afterwards.
Flight Stabilization
An integrated gyro system is installed, which stabilizes the quadrocopter fully automatically by itself. This makes flying and controlling the drone pretty easy, because you can let go of the control stick without the Kamara Skip 3D crashing.
However, this model does not have a barometer to regulate the altitude precisely and there is no GPS module which would allow the Jamara drone to take up its position even more precisely.
Special stunts and flight maneuvers
At the push of a button, the Jamara Skip 3D drone can perform various somersaults, after which it stabilizes itself again completely by itself.
Of course many other mini drones can do this, but what they cannot do is inverted flight. The Jamara will automatically go into inverted flight after you give the command by pressing the button, but the drone turns upside down and stays in that position. The system receives the commands as usual. So you can fly upside down without having any special skills.
