In this test report we present the mini drone from Lidl. It has some great flight characteristics, is perfect for beginners and is available for a low price of less than 20 €.
The material processing is really super for the fact that the drone is in this low price segment. In any case, you will get a quadrocopter here that matches the price.
Because this model is so cheap, it unfortunately does not have a real camera and of course no gimbal system.

Technical data and facts about the Lidl drone
The Lidl drone has an integrated 6-axis gyroscope in order to remain as stable as possible in a state of suspension in the air.
In addition, there is an integrated height sensor, thanks to which you will also find it easier to control the drone.
The 2.4 Ghz frequency band over which the remote control works, ensures a safe and stable data transmission. This means that there is no interference and there is no loss of connection. The drone can be easily controlled via 4 channels and in all directions.
A real highlight is the 360 degree flip function. You can do this in all directions, which makes flying even more fun.
To help beginners find their way around the controls, there is an activatable headless mode that allows you to control the model regardless of its orientation.
If the small Lidl drone should crash and a propeller should break, it is no problem, because spare rotor blades are included in delivery.
The model is in itself very stable, the fuselage usually does not break when it comes to collisions or crashes.
But to avoid this happening in the first place, we recommend that you do not fly indoors on your first flights, but first gain some flying experience on open terrain.
Also make sure that your hands do not get too wet, so that the remote control does not slip out of your hands. It can also be useful not to remove the rotor protection. You should also make sure that the battery of the remote control is always as charged as possible.
As far as the flight characteristics are concerned, you will get the hang of it pretty quickly. Acceleration, agility and the delay-free acceptance of control commands are enormous. If you abruptly take your foot off the gas, the small mini drone automatically steers against it to come to a standstill as quickly as possible and to remain in a state of suspension.
Even advanced drone pilots will be pleased with this quadrocopter, as it achieves a fairly high speed of about 30 kilometers per hour for its size.

Design of the drone
The construction of the quadrocopter reminds us a bit of the Syma drone. We have already tested it extensively some time ago.
The rotor blades have different colours in pairs, namely black and poison green. Underneath are also pairs of LEDs in red and green.
For beginners the drone is not only suitable because of its excellent flight characteristics, but also because of its dimensions. The quadrocopter is neither too small nor too large. The model has a width of about 32 cm, a height of 32 cm and measures 8 cm in height.
The total weight of the package contents with all accessories, i.e. remote control, battery, spare parts and so on, is 295 g. However, the quadrocopter alone weighs less than 250 g, so you don’t need a drone marker for the model.
Schematic structure of the remote control
We especially liked the design and construction of the remote control that came with the quadrocopter. It lies like a gamepad in the hand, has different buttons, freely movable sticks and buttons.
Among other things, you can use the flip function in the different directions, control the quadrocopter and switch the headless mode on or off.
In the middle is the on/off switch to couple the drone with the remote control.
In addition, there are various speed levels that can be set via the remote control. So you as a beginner can slowly adjust to the higher speed and sensitivity to control commands.
On the back you have to insert the batteries. Simply remove the cover and insert the AA batteries that are included in the delivery.
Manufacturing quality of the Lidl drone
The small mini drone has a very good workmanship, for that it costs only about 20 €. The material used is very elastic but nevertheless resistant. Therefore, in the event of a crash something rarely breaks. In the test, the model also crashed a few times and remained unhurt.

Battery, flight, charging time and range
Unfortunately the flying time is a little bit short, but for this price category completely acceptable.
The drone has a small battery which keeps the aircraft in the air for about 7 to 8 minutes. The charging time is about 70 to 100 minutes.
In flight you can control the Lidl drone up to a distance of about 50 meters, after that the radio contact breaks off.
