Technical data
There are many drones of this size and price category and we have already tested some of them, but not all of them are so good that one could say that a purchase is always worthwhile for everyone. If the Simulus fits to you depends on your individual needs and experience.
Points are deducted because the drone has no camera and therefore no FPV mode. Let’s see how much technology is still in the model.
Size, design and weight
Despite its dimensions of 32 x 7.5 x 32 cm and a rather low weight of about 100 g, the Simulus belongs to the category of mini drones.
Equipped with 4 large rotors and a powerful drive, it achieves high acceleration and speed values.
All in all the design reminds a little bit of a UFO. Underneath are 2 large landing cuvs, similar to those found on the DJI Phantom models. The material of the rotor blades is not rigid but can be easily bent and is elastic. Otherwise the plastic of the housing structure looks a bit cheap, but this is probably not important, because the Simulus survives a crash without problems.
Flight modes
The flight modes provide for a lot of fun, with Simulus there are different 3-D stunts to choose from, which you can perform at the push of a button.
Battery, range and flight time
A LiPo-battery with 500 mAh is installed which works with an operating voltage of 3.7 Volt. With this battery the maximum flight time is unfortunately only 7 minutes. You have to charge it for about 75 minutes. The ratio of flight time to charging time is unfortunately underground. However, you can also simply replace the flight battery and thereby extend the flight time considerably, provided you make a few intermediate landings.
The maximum range is 100 meters, although this also depends on whether there are any objects between the transmitter and the drone.
Flight Stabilization
For flight stabilization a 6-axis gyroscope is used, which always keeps the drone in a stable flight attitude. This way the Simulus is always perfectly in the air and even beginners have an easy time learning to fly with a drone.
After the 360-degree flips and stunts, it automatically returns to a floating state thanks to the gyroscope system.
Nevertheless, the drone is quite fast, very agile and agile.

Contrary to the opinion of various shops, we put forward the thesis that this drone is not for professionals, but the ideal entry model for people with little flying experience.
What bothers us: There is no camera, although you can expect that at this price. On the other hand, the model shines with other advantages, such as a very good flight attitude, high speed and enormous agility. Additionally there are the cool 3D flips, which can be done at the push of a button.
The 6-channel control system is ideal for this and beginners can easily expand their skills, as the drone can be adjusted to different speed levels and thus achieve greater agility.
