Where do you actually get the smallest remote-controlled drone in the world? We asked ourselves this question and after a short research we came across the Virhuck CX-10D mini drone.
This is a quadrocopter with a height of 2.5 cm and a diameter of 5.8 cm.
Despite the small dimensions, there is a lot of technology in this small plane. It can perform 3D stunts at the touch of a button and has a system that automatically keeps the drone in hover.
Technical Details
A clear advantage of the Virhuck CX-10D Quadcopter is that you can easily put it in your pocket with the remote control.
It also makes a very robust impression. In our experience, the smaller drones are, the more stable they are. Therefore, the Virhuck CX-10D is also very suitable for beginners and inexperienced drone pilots, the aircraft takes a long time to fly and so crashes, collisions with walls or objects are no problem at all.
The hover and hold up function does the rest and provides a more pleasant flight experience, especially for beginners.
To ensure that the quadrocopter is very stable in the air, it has a 6-axis gyroscope system and an altitude barometer. You can inspire your friends and acquaintances with spectacular stunts.
The Virhuck CX-10D does a 3D roll and then goes back into hovering flight. You just have to press the corresponding button on the remote control.
The transmitter or remote control is a small 2.4 Ghz transmitter unit. The transmission power is sufficient to control the drone at 20 to 30 meters.
But there is one thing we had to criticize and that is the maximum flight time, because this is unfortunately only about 5-6 minutes, which is due to the small 3.7 volt battery with only 150 mAh, then you have to recharge the remote controlled aircraft, which takes about 30 minutes.
LED lights on the top of the rotors make the drone more attractive and let you control it in the dark.
What is the best way to control the Virhuck CX-10D drone?
The flight behaviour takes some getting used to at the beginning, but since this is a really very small drone, control commands are of course executed much faster than in a large drone.
If you want to take off slowly and carefully, bring the quadrocopter slowly upwards by pushing the left joystick only a little bit.
It might be helpful to control the drone in the slowest speed mode to avoid feeling abrupt control commands as much as possible.
Little by little you can also test the faster stages. Unfortunately, the remote controlled quadrocopter doesn’t have a headless mode, so you have to rethink, as soon as the front is facing you, left is right and vice versa.
Nevertheless a nice part for beginners and children to gain their first flight experiences.
Scope of delivery
The Virhuck CX-10D drone is an RTF quadrocopter. RTF stands for “Ready To Fly”. All you have to do is unpack the remote-controlled model and you can fly off directly.
For the remote control you need 2 x AAA batteries, which are not included.
In the package you will find the following elements:
1 x Virhuck CX-10D Quadcopter1
x Radio remote control with 2.4 Ghz and a range of about 20 to 30 meters1

Advantages and disadvantages of the mini drone
We have once again compiled the most important positive and negative aspects of the small drone for you. Please keep in mind that this is a toy drone, which only costs a little less than 20 €!
Advantages:
- Small, compact and handy – can be transported everywhere
- The mini drone has safety features such as the 6-axis gyro system and an altitude barometer – making it easy for beginners to learn to fly
- Virhuck CX-10D Quadrocopter has 3 different speed levels
- Also suitable for children from the age of 6 years
- 2,4 Ghz transmitter with 4 channels to be better protected against jamming
- Drone forgives crashes even from great heights and easily copes with collisions with objects or walls
- Colourful, colourful & funny design
- Spectacular 3D flight stunts at the push of a button – afterwards the drone automatically returns to hovering flight
Disadvantages:
- The distance is unfortunately only about 20-30 meters
- After 5-6 minutes the battery is already empty, then the drone must be recharged for about half an hour
- Susceptible to wind due to its low weight, it is much better suited for indoor flights – outside we recommend to fly only when there is no wind
- You can not take photos and videos because the drone has no camera
What other mini drones are there?
We have also tested other mini drones, including the Parrot Mambo, the Parrot Airborne drone and the DJI Spark, which even has a gesture control. All 3 drones are significantly larger and also more expensive. If you compare them to the Virhuck CX-10D Quadrocopter, it becomes clear that this model is really damn small!
Conclusion
Fact is, amateur photographers are definitely looking for a different kind of drone, but this is not about photo quadrocopters, but about mini drones and you probably have here the smallest model in front of you, which is currently on the market.
The low price might be worth considering buying the model as a gadget. The drone is also very suitable for children (from the age of 6 years) and beginners, because the model offers many safety features and is very robust.
