Today we will introduce you to the M8 Allwinner V3 Cam, which we have taken a closer look at. It has a high-quality design and is available in different colours.
This camera is also ideal for divers, as it comes with a waterproof housing that protects against water penetration up to a depth of 30 meters.
A special advantage, which sets the M8 Allwinner V3 camera apart from other cams, is the possibility to use memory cards with a size of up to 128 GB.
The action camera has an operating system and runs on the basis of Linux. It has a Cortex-A7 processor with 1.2 Ghz and has a DDR3 memory with a capacity of 2 GB.
All in all this model offers you a lot, in our opinion it has a very good price/performance ratio.
Technical data and facts about the action camera
Among other things, the camera has Wifi. This is the RTL8189ETV module (IEEE 802.11 /b/g/n 2.4GHz).
So you can easily connect the model to your smartphone and receive the images in real time on your device. Because of the high data transfer rate, the images are transmitted with a low latency.
Inserting the camera into the housing is quite simple and not very complicated. When the cam is inside, the audio is of poorer quality, but the microphone itself is of higher quality than other models. An 8 ohm speaker with 0.8 watts is used as a speaker.
Camera
The M8 Allwinner V3 action camera uses a 16 MP photo sensor. This is the Sony IMX179.A 8M 1/3.2 inch BSI CMOS sensor with a video recording performance of 4K and 30 frames per second. Additionally, a 6G F/NO 2.0 lens with a field of view of 146 degrees is installed.
In the camera menu, you can set different photo resolution values: 2 MP, 5 MP, 8 MP, 12 MP and 16 MP.
Also for video recording: 4K at 30 fps 2.7K at 30 fps 1080P at 60 fps or 30 fps and 720P at 120.60 or 30 frames per second.
Other modes include the time-lapse function, looping recording and a few other recording features you can select.
The Design
We particularly like the M8 Allwinner V3 action camera, especially because it is available in different colours. In the shop you can choose between yellow, blue and black.
On the side is a mini-USB and HDMI input. Below the SD card slot and the battery compartment where you have to insert the battery.
The action camera is also quite grippy and has a high grip, so it won’t fall out of your hand so quickly.
On the back, the display is evenly embedded and has 2.0 inches. It is a 16:9 TFT screen with a pixel size of 320 x 240.

Battery
As already mentioned, you can easily replace the battery of the M8 Allwinner V3 action camera. All you have to do is open the lower compartment.
In the scope of supply is a 900 mAh battery for the cam. With this you can film for about 90 minutes at a resolution of 1080P and 30 fps.
If you select higher resolution values, the recording time will be shorter. With lower values you save energy, can film longer and have enough memory available at the end. However, the picture quality will be much worse.

Conclusion
In the shop linked by us there are currently still about 46% discount on this camera model. So you can get the M8 Allwinner V3 action camera for less than 40€, but normally the price is between 70 and 80€.
Even if we include the original price for evaluation, we think this camera has an incredibly good price/performance ratio. The CMOS camera sensor is very high quality and takes some pretty breathtaking photos and videos. Both the resolution and colour depth are particularly good.
You also have some choices regarding the camera modes and you can also set the white balance in the menu.
In our opinion, the cam is therefore ideal for beginners with a small budget. But advanced action cam users will also benefit from the many advantages of the M8 Allwinner V3.
