It ensures breathtaking film shots of your action-packed adventures, whether it’s diving, climbing, drone flying, cycling, skiing or motorcycling.
With this model the manufacturer promises to have brought a long-lasting camera on the market, which more than fulfils the requirements of a typical action camera. Whether this is really the case, we have thoroughly examined in our test. In this report we will introduce the Vmotal GSV8560 action camera in detail.
Technical data – What’s in it?
It has a 16 megapixel photo sensor that delivers smooth, detailed 4K images at up to 25 fps at maximum resolution. Alternatively, 3.2K & 2.7K at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 60 fps and 790p at 90 fps are available.
Thanks to the 150-degree wide-angle lens, you can not only shoot your surroundings very wide, but also benefit from the effect that the camera can capture more light, so that the image still shows detail, colour and sufficient contrast in dim light.
The image quality is very balanced and the price/performance ratio is really great. In the menu you can also adjust the white balance according to the following environmental conditions:
Car, sunny, cloudy, incandescent, fluorescent light. This guarantees that your picture is neither under- nor over-exposed and that you will get the maximum quality of the photo and video recordings.
On the back of the cam is a 2 inch TFT-LCD screen, on which you can view the live image and already generated recordings.
For the advanced user there are several shooting modes available such as slow motion, fast motion and loop recording. The following time intervals are available in fast motion mode: 0.5s, 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 30s and 60 seconds. You can also set the start of video recording like a self-timer to 3s, 5s, 10s, 15s, 20s or 30s. The self-timer for taking pictures can be set to the following times: 3s, 5s, 10s, 20s. Slow-motion recording is available for 1080p/60 fps and 790p/90 fps.
On the right side of the camera is a SD card slot where you can insert and use Micro SD cards up to 64 Gbye, as well as a HDMI and USB output to transfer the data to other devices. You can view the photos and videos on your TV and transfer them to your PC, laptop or tablet.
The action camera has like most cams in this area Wifi: 802.11b / g / n (2.4G / 5.8G) which reaches up to 20 meters. You can connect the recording device to your smartphone or tablet and control the recording with an app and follow the live image.
There is also a 800mAh strong Li-Ion battery, which is unfortunately fixed and not removable. We find this point an extreme disadvantage. When the action camera‘s battery is running low, you can’t simply replace it and continue filming, but have to wait for long charging times.

Assets and drawbacks
For the low price of less than 50€ you can get a lot of stuff here. Of course the quality is not comparable to a GoPro, but the pictures and video recordings are still impressive.

Operation – How practical is the Vmotal GSV8560 4K WIFI Action Camera?
To create impressive and special shots, usability and handling must of course be tailored to the user. This point is especially important in leisure sports when using action cams.
With the Vmotal GSV8560 4K WIFI Action Camera the manufacturer has done a great job and designed the menu navigation in a structured and not too overloaded way.
Finally, you can use the camera via Wifi, App and Smartphone very easily. The necessary installation file of the application is available for IOS and Android operating systems. Using your device (smartphone or tablet), you can control the menu and the camera, and follow the live image in almost real time.
The time delay of the picture due to the Wifi transmission is limited and is not as strong as with other devices.
If you only want to operate the menu via the camera, there are 2 buttons above the recording device.
Conclusion
All in all the camera makes a very positive overall impression. 150 degree wide-angle lens, 4K resolution and 16 megapixels including a waterproof housing up to 60 meters deep. Unfortunately, you can’t replace the battery, which is a great pity, because this is exactly what will be the exclusion criterion for many potential buyers and thus the reason not to buy the camera.
Certainly there are much better cams than the Vmotal GSV8560 4K WIFI Action Camera, but you have to keep an eye on the price/performance ratio. For a beginner with a small budget the camera is definitely suitable. Professionals who are already used to better cams from the “GoPro” department may not necessarily like this model. But you can get the Vmotal GSV8560 Cam for less than 50€.
For this price you even get the possibility to create slow- and fast motion movies, as well as recordings with loop. These features of course increase the value of the camera significantly!
